The Most Revealing Basic Training Book On The Market!

Since the tragic bombings of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on 9/11, I have encountered so many new enlistees chomping at the bit to get into their basic training units within their respective branches of service, that I cannot count them all. In every case, however, it is obvious to me that the terrorists' unintended “benefits” of the bombings have been both a renewed sense of patriotism among our youth of today and a state of urgency, with regard to the overall defense of the United States and its’ democratic lifestyle. Upon speaking with these new enlistees and their subsequent discovery that I am an Army veteran, I was immediately bombarded with questions from each of them. Typically they asked “What was it really like?” or “What can I really expect?” In every instance my conversations with each of them lasted for hours and upon answering each new question they offered, they seemed that much less pensive. Essentially, I answered their questions until their supply had been exhausted. At the end of every conversation, I could see in their eyes that they felt that much more prepared. Hence, I came to feel an obligation to all new enlistees to write this book. It is a true story which recounts some experiences during my infantry basic training cycle at Fort Benning, Georgia. These were scenarios or events which my recruiter “forgot to mention” to me (or any other recruit for that matter) prior to me shipping out for Army infantry basic training. Chapter Nine . . . “New Recruit Fundamental Advice.” This chapter provides both fundamentals and fundamental advice which every enlistee, entering any branch of the United States armed services, should and must know. By knowing and practicing these fundamentals and predicated on the knowledge of the remainder of this book, an enlistee will be much better prepared for what to expect and what is expected of them. This book unveils events which are generally neither mentioned nor performed outside of the military brotherhood . . . at least not that are spoken about in open company. Especially not to “newbies” like you! Copyright Carl R. Munz 2006

   About The Book

Are you a new military enlistee? Are you an enlistee awaiting your "ship- date"? Are you the parent(s) of a child awaiting their "ship-date" to enter his/her basic training? Or are you a "feel-good true story" reader? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this book is for you! THIS BOOK IS A TRUE STORY RECOUNTED! This book provides anwers to many, if not all, of the speculative questions you may have regarding how the basic training process will actually be. This book focuses more on what really to expect from the drill instructors, than the actual training itself. While it does depict some training scenes, it more maintains the scope of how drill instructors utilize disciplinary techniques to ahieve their predetermined training goals and objectives. In addition, it also focuses on how the drill instructors interact with recruits as they progress through their basic training cycle. It also contains and entire chapter dedicated solely to color training photos, beginning with initial arrival at the basic training reception battalion and ending with the graduation ceremony. There are also color photos throughout the book, so that readers can visualize what is being described therein. If you have ever asked yourself questions like; "I wonder what it is going to be like when I get there?" or "I wonder what really happens?" or "I wonder if drill instructors are like they are on t.v.?" This book is for you!
